Joe MacKool passed away on August 31, 2009 at the age of 25 from Cystic Fibrosis, just after receiving a double lung transplant. Joe knew he was going to die, but it never prevented him from living each day as if it was his last. Described by family and friends to be tough, determined, hilarious, big-hearted, selfless (despite having every reason to be selfish), liked if not loved by everyone, and an inspirational “old soul,” Joe’s spirit lives on in the Class of 2002, in all of our hearts at CBA, and in his family.
This fund, initiated by his “Brother” in the Class of 2002, will keep Joe’s spirit alive in many ways. Joe received a great deal of financial assistance to attend CBA. Your gift to The Joe MacKool ’02 Fund will help a CBA student who could be struggling with the cost of books, spiritual retreats, class trips, a tux or dress for the prom, and even lunch money. It could be used to provide classroom equipment like a Smart Desk, new Science Lab materials, or upgrades to the Large Group Instruction room, all of which could bear Joe’s name.
Joe’s family thanks you, Joe’s "Brothers" thank you, and CBA thanks you.
